Ashanti Miranda, LCSW
Hi, I’m Ashanti Miranda. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Practitioner, Navy veteran, and your Burnout Bestie.
I didn’t build this brand because I had everything figured out. I built it because I was completely burned out, and no one was talking about it in a way that felt real, honest, and culturally rooted.
After being discharged from the Navy for not meeting body standards, I threw myself into overachievement: full-time student, part-time worker, engaged, checking every box. I thought that if I just did enough, I’d be enough. Spoiler alert, I still felt like I was crumbling.
Then came divorce. Grad school. A new city with no family. I started working in mental health while barely holding myself together. Every therapist I saw was a white woman who didn’t get it. They had the training, but not the context. Not the code switching. Not the ancestral grief. Not the “strong friend” syndrome.
So I created the healing I needed.
I leaned into spirituality, breathwork, plant medicine, and radical rest. I realized burnout isn’t just about work. It’s about disconnection. And the more I sat with my clients, Black and Brown women with brilliant minds and exhausted hearts, the more I saw it. This is a collective wound.
Burnout Bestie was born from that knowing.
This isn’t just therapy. It’s nervous system repair. It’s community. It’s unlearning survival mode. It’s rest you don’t have to earn.
